Why choose Sopan Academy & Play School?
Sopan Academy & Play School was established in October, 2014 and started operation from January, 2015 Session. It’s an English Medium Co-education School under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education . Both Bengali and Hindi Languages are taught as First Language and English is taught as the Second Language.
We are imparting the “best possible education in a minimum cost” for the last 10 (Ten) years for the local children of Bhatpara, Kankinara, Naihati and Gorifa. We believe that a student from an ordinary family background can achieve extraordinary position in life. In our school all the children are looked after with extra care. Every rise and fall in their study is analyzed and monitored. This becomes possible due to the reason that we work with a limited number of students. You cannot admit your child unless your child fulfills some basic needs for Admission in this school.
The reason that why should a parent admit his child in this school has been discussed in details in the following points one-by-one.
Affiliation
We hope that the Affiliation process will be completed within the first half of the next year.
Abstinence of European Education System
As an independent private school right from the beginning we have avoided the Filtration Theory of the British Rulers in which stress was given to Object Oriented Learning. Nourishing the blooming minds to develop their growth of talent been the prime objective of our school. Memorizing text to vomit lip-deep knowledge in examinations by the students is not our ultimate goal, where a child is only trained to deliver knowledge what he/she has acquired/gathered from mechanical repetitions. Our goal is to design the minds of our students where they will be able to link their knowledge, gathered from educational pursuit, with social and political realities of life.
Redefining Vision and Mission
Our Vision and Mission is to prepare our students who not only will be a successful person in life but also a good citizen capable of rational thinking, who will feel proud to participate in the noble task of building a New India, imbued with his/her scientific mind, compassionate behavior and moral values.
National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and Sopan Academy
The NEP, 2020 Policies as propounded by the Government of India and partly implemented by the Government of West Bengal has stressed on developing values and harmony with nature, environment, cultural heritage and production process. Theoretical Learning and unconstrained mechanism in educational learning process have completely been abandoned. In such scenario we, nearly for the past one decade, have taught our students the core educational values and teachings of the ancient time which profess: “Vidya amritam ashute” i.e. “Education is nectar” and “Sa vidya ya vimuktate” i.e. “Education that liberates”.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is not to produce mere scholars, technicians or job hunters; we are in the process of making a school which can produce true citizens of the country. We teach our students value-based education which will turn him/her into a reliable person, a responsible citizen of the country, a valuable element of the society, a dependable member of the family, a caring son/daughter of the parents and a lover and protector of nature and its creations.
Managing Committee
Most of our Managing Committee Members are Educationists. Out of the 13 (thirteen) MC Members, 7 (seven) are Educationists, 2 (two) are Advocates, 1 (one) is a Technician, 1 (one) is a Computer Professional and 1 (one) is a Doctor.
Our Teachers
We recruit qualified and experienced Teachers only, who are able to deliver the desired quality of education. During the last 9 (nine) years of our operations this has remained our prime focus as we believe in Quality only, not in Quantity. Our Teachers are Caring, Well Behaved, Helpful, and Cooperative and maintain a healthy relationship with the students as well as their parents.
Computer Education
Nothing in today’s life can be thought of without computers. Computer education can be important for children at an early age because it can help them develop skills that are essential in today’s workforce. Early exposure to computers can give children a head start and equip them with sought-after skills in the workforce. Familiarity with computers can also ignite a passion for tech-related careers.
We recruit well qualified Computer Teacher so that our students’ fundamental as well as advanced learning of computer succeeds.
Methodology
We mainly follow the Ancient Indian Education System wherein education is considered to be the panacea of all social evils. Original and authentic native values and culture are imbibed in the blossoming minds. One can easily distinguish our students who are in our school from their very childhood days. These boys and girls have acquired up-to-date knowledge compared to their counterparts of other schools as well as acquainted themselves with exemplary Indian Values and Culture. The meaning of original education is manifested in the behaviours of our students very clearly, if observed closely.
Stable Administration
Your child excels in an atmosphere where the administration is stable and inspiring. Our Principal and Managing Committee Members can provide strong leadership and problem-solving skills to our students. Our system makes our school the ideal learning place for your child.
Strict Rules and Regulations
The Managing Committee formulates Rules and Regulations for the school keeping in view the ultimate benefit of the student community. After a certain rule is implemented, strict observation of the same is followed. Any deviation from it is not allowed. We instill good habits in our students at an early age. It is very crucial for their development and future success.
The habits that we instill are:
- Reading
- Revising
- Playing
- Conserving resources
- Being organized
- Adhering to a routine
- Adopting a friendly attitude
- Proper hygiene
- Exercise and physical activity
- Eating a balanced diet
- Staying positive
- Listening and respecting others etc.
Limited number of students
Maximum 20 (twenty) students are admitted in a class. We maintain a High Student-Teacher Ratio in our school so that the progress and fall in studies of students can be monitored and every student gets individual attention.
No Private Tutor requirement at home
As a result of limited number of students and High Student-Teacher Ratio and as a result of personal and individual care at school, a parent does not need to appoint Private Tutor for his ward at home. Everything of the syllabus is taught step-by-step and a teacher does not go to the next topic unless he/she is sure that every student has understood what has been taught in the class.
This way high performance of the students is achieved. We always set new standards of teaching and expect the great performance of our students by believing in their competence. The standards are encouraged to work at or slightly above the instructions given by the Teachers.
Modern Learning Methods
We don’t disclose, but insist on some modern techniques and tricks for better performance of our students. Students learn the tricks without being aware of the same. This is done completely in-house and is truly an Intellectual Property of our school what makes our students well ahead of other school children.
Linking Theory with Practice
The main goals of practical tasks are to engage the students in the subject and help them get a better grasp of the topics studied during science lessons. In fact practical group work can support learning in a variety of ways. The ever riding principle, however, is to be able to link the concrete and abstract worlds. In our school, the students are taught to link these worlds at an early age by bridging theoretical knowledge with practical examples.

We select books of reputed publishers that follow the NEP, 2020 standards.
